As a teacher, the world that I live in is very unreasonable -I have to cope with all insensible expectations of the didactic, pontifical people around me.The following are the things I have decided to share with you today.
Firstly, it is impossible conforming to the public perception of teachers' working ethic. I will be pinpointed for playing hooky if I am seen roaming somewhere in town even on non-working days. Every one expects to see you spend much of your time in school or at home writing your lesson plans or marking your pupils' work. You are to commit your whole-self to the world of education no matter how desperate you are for a rest or for a temporary chill out from the stress of life.
Besides, the Department of Education expects you to lead a submissive life. As a tattered slave of their precepts, you are also expected to be submissive to their 'whims ' and 'wavering decisions'. There is an ever-increasing number of paperwork awaiting you in each successive year. Once getting one thing settled, you have to brace yourself for another . Nobody cares if you have become run down or mentally exhausted by the accumulating work and responsibilities.
